Class 1 Streetcar to Appear in San Diego Holiday Parades

The San Diego Class 1 Streetcars, which were on the rails in San Diego from 1912 to 1939, will be available for public viewing in North Park’s 47th Annual Toyland Parade!

These historic streetcars made their first appearance in the Toyland Parade in 1997 and have returned just as the city is poised to make key decisions on the future of public transportation. On Dec. 4th at 11 a.m. on University Avenue between Utah and Iowa, all San Diegans can come take a look at these true treasures from San Diego’s past and imagine what it would be like to have them back on their original routes, providing transit service for our city once again!

You’ll also be able to catch the Class 1 in the 31st Annual Ocean Beach Holiday Parade on Dec, 4th at 5pm over on Newport Ave. as well as the 53rd Annual La Jolla Christmas Parade on Girard and Prospect on Dec. 5th at 2pm.
